Brunswick Sardines in Mustard and Dill Sauce.

I was in such an absent-minded rush to eat something that I tore the plastic packaging off this can of sardines and then remembered that I haven't updated in more than a week. *sigh* Well, this blog is more of an experiment anyway.

As you can see, one of the two sardines in the can has been noshed upon already. I've never been that impressed with sardines in a can, they've always seemed bland, but the mustard and dill sauce in this version helps quite a bit. I would have liked a stronger mustard flavor, personally, and the dill was about non-existent, but I don't think I can deny that having a sauce improved the sardines right out of the can.

Sardines are at the bottom of the food chain so they are plentiful and cheap and they don't concentrate contaminants like heavy metals. Thumbs up to that.
